Mrs. Rose M. (Calabro) Ferry, of Waltham, passed away on May 14, 2020 in Meadow Green Nursing Home. She was 94 years old.
Rose was born in Boston on October 25, 1925, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Jennie (DeLuca) Calabro. In 1945 she married Cambridge native and WWII Veteran George A. Ferry. They lived in Boston for a time before making the "Big" move to Waltham in 1957 where they made their home of 48 years on Kingston Road. Rose was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to cook, share a few "Parlor Jokes" and quote Johnny Carson. Most important to her was quality time with family and if you had been away for a while, she always cherished some "One-on-One" time. She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and delightful personality.
She was the beloved wife of the late George A. Ferry, Sr., and is survived by her sons, George A. Ferry, Jr. (Fern) of Ft. Myers, Florida, William P. Ferry (Patricia) of Naples, Florida and Cotuit, and Kenneth M. Ferry (Janet) of Naples, Florida and E. Dennis; her grandchildren, Adam Ferry, Aimee Ferry, Kristen Allen, Danielle Ferry and Taylor Carvalho; her great-grandchildren, Kendall Rose Allen, Anthony Allen, Blake Carvalho and Sydney Rose Carvalho; her sister Joan McKillop of Waltham and also leaves many nieces, nephews and their families.
She was the sister of the late Stephen Calabro, Anthony Calabro and Michelena Lindsay.
Funeral services and burial in Mt. Feake Cemetery are private.
A Memorial Mass will be announced at a later date.
