Rose Mary Sbardelli

Weston – Mrs. Rose Mary (Butera) Sbardelli, of Weston, formerly of West Newton, died Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Massachusetts General Hospital. She was 85.

Rose was born in Brighton on March 12, 1925, a daughter of the late John and Matilda (Casinelli) Butera. She was raised in Brighton and had lived in West Newton for many years before moving to Weston seven years ago. Rose was a homemaker and in her spare time she enjoyed painting, baking, piano playing and a variety of art work and water coloring.

She leaves her children, Rose Ng and her husband, Tony, of Waltham, Mary Parker and her husband, Chance, of Sudbury, Susan Rudek and her husband, John of West Newton and John Sbardelli and his wife, Diane, of Sturbridge; her brother, Frank Butera of Weston; 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Rose was the wife of the late John Sbardelli, mother of the late David Sbardelli and sister of the late Mary Caruso.

Family and friends will honor and remember Rose’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday morning when her funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
