Rose V. Rafferty

Waltham – Mrs. Rose V. (Papia) Rafferty, of Waltham, died Monday, April 16, 2012 in Maristhill Nursing Home. She was 94.

Rose was born in Waltham on February 25, 1918, a daughter of the late Rosario and Rose (Morreale) Papia. She had worked as a dressmaker at Puritan Dress Company in Waltham and had been a long-time parishioner of Saint Charles Borromeo Church in Waltham.

The wife late George J. Rafferty, she leaves her children, Catherine F. O'Leary and her husband, Edward, of Waltham and George J. Rafferty, Jr. of Waltham; her grandchildren Joseph E. O'Leary and Lisa M. O'Leary and her great-grandchildren, Logan E., Nicholas T. and Matthew J. O'Leary.

Family and friends will honor and remember Rose's life by gathering to visit in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday morning, April 20th from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
