Waltham - Mrs. Rose F. (Mula) Rigoli, of Waltham, died Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 95.
A lifelong resident, Rose was born in Waltham on January, 26, 1923, the first daughter of the late Louis and Florence (Marisola) Mula.
Beloved wife of the late Carl Rigoli, the two wed on January 8, 1945 in Portsmouth, Virginia. They met by chance at a wedding and had an instant connection. Following the war, they made their home in Waltham where they raised three children. In her 50's, Rose battled and overcame colon cancer. She was a homemaker for many years as her children grew. Rose later entered the workforce, finding great joy in her decade long tenure at Hewlett Packard. Later in life she enjoyed movies, politics, and spending time with her family and friends. She and her family also spent many happy summer vacations at Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
She leaves behind her children, Carl C. Rigoli Jr. of Smithville, Missouri and his wife Barbara, Florence M. Rigoli of Brockton, and Anthony D. Rigoli of Waltham and his wife Peggy. She was the dear grandmother of Shawn Pittman and Nick Rigoli of Missouri, and Nicole and Holly Rigoli of Waltham; great-grandmother of Kelsey Pittman and Domenic Rigoli of Missouri; sister of Mary Buscemi of Cotuit, Florence Cornelssen of Mashpee, Angie Guidebeck of Waltham and Louis Mula of Lexington and also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Rose' s life by gathering for calling hours in the Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, October 14th from 2 to 5 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River St., Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
