Waltham – Miss Rose ‘Rosalie’ Santa Maria of Waltham died Sunday, June 26, 2011 in the Maristhill Nursing Home. She was 94.

Rose was born in Waltham on March 19, 1917, a daughter of the late Stephen and Maria (Rando) Santa Maria and had been a life-long resident.

She had worked for thirty-five years at the Hood Rubber Factory in Watertown and in her later years worked at Grover Cronin’s in Waltham. In her spare time she enjoyed collecting Hummels, Llardos, and owls.

Rose is survived by her brother, John R. Santa Maria and his wife, Kay, of Maynard and many nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Basil and Stephen Santa Maria and sister-in-law of the late Jean and Ann Santa Maria.

Family and friends will honor and remember Rose’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20) Waltham, on Thursday, June 30th, from 4-8 p.m. and again on Friday morning at 9 a.m. before leaving in procession to Saint Mary’s Church, 133 School Street, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
