Waltham- Mrs. Rose E. (Gillan) Scott of Waltham, formerly of Cambridge, died Saturday April 2, 2005 at Epoch Senior Healthcare Center. She was 96. Born in Somerville, a daughter of the late James B. and Rose A. (Woods) Gillan, she worked for many years for the New Engalnd Telephone Company as an operator. Mrs. Scott lived for many years in Cambridge before moving to Waltham in 1968. She was the wife of the late William R. Scott, mother of the late Richard Scott, and sister of the late Thomas Gillan, Harold Gillan and Dorothy Hayes. She is survived by her children, William Scott of Falmouth, Bernard Scott of Oregon, Edith Bernie Stremeckus of Waltham, Dorothy LaBarge of Fryeburg, ME, and Barbara Scott of Franklin. Also survived by twenty three grandchildren, thirty five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held Thursday at 8 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Marys Church, 133 School Street, Waltham at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Cambridge Cemetery.
