Rosemary Ellen Campbell, of Watertown, age 86, died Friday, August 12, 2022 at Brightview Arlington. Rosemary was born on January 27, 1936 in Waltham, the daughter of Neil J. and Teresa A. (Costigan) Campbell. Raised in Watertown she was a graduate of Watertown High School Class of 1953 and Bentley University Class of 1967.
Rosemary began her career in banking at Union Market Bank and then continued on in the broadcasting industry beginning at WBZ-TV, then WITS and finally retiring from FOX-25 TV in Dedham as Business Manager. During her retirement she volunteered her time at Sacred Heart Church in Watertown for many years as Finance Director.
She faithfully followed the Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox and NE Patriots teams. Rosemary, along with her Bentley friends were avid fans of the Lady Falcons Basketball team at Bentley University for over 30 years. She enjoyed traveling and had a great appreciation of music. Rosemary felt blessed by her Roman Catholic faith and was truly devout therein. Rosemary was a wonderful listener and made you feel so at home in her presence, greeting you with her soft smile and beautiful blue eyes. She will be lovingly remembered by all who had the great honor of knowing her.
Rosemary was the sister of the late Edward N. and Arthur T. Campbell. She leaves her nieces, Michele Scannell (Kenneth) of Shrewsbury and Nancy Campbell of Saugus; her grand-nephews, Jack and Kyle Scannell, many cousins and her long-time friends Augustine Piantedosi, Anne Hogan, Lynda Schuler and Maureen Creasia.
Family and friends will honor and remember Rosemary's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, Waltham on Friday, August 19th from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 770 Mount Auburn Street, Watertown where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., officiated by her former pastor and dear friend, Father Joseph L. Curran. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watertown.
