Mrs. Rosmely (Hsu) Crites, of San Francisco, California and more recently Framingham Massachusetts, died on Wednesday August 29, 2018 at the Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln, Massachusetts. She was 38.
Rose was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on February 4, 1980, the daughter of Shih Chang Hsu and Yu-Mei Hsu Teng. She was raised in Southern California where she attended Walnut and Fountain Valley High Schools. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara and her teaching credential from California State, Long Beach. She was working on her master's degree at San Jose State University when she was diagnosed with cancer. She most recently worked as a teacher librarian at Robert Louis Stevenson Elementary in the San Francisco Unified School District. On October 9, 2009, she married Timothy Crites. In the summer of 2014 she gave birth to her everything, Sebastian. On Christmas Eve 2015, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and after completing multiple surgeries and treatments in the Bay area, she, Tim and their two-year-old son Sebastian, relocated to the Boston area so she could receive the best care possible at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Massachusetts General Hospital.
Besides her husband Timothy C. Crites and son Sebastian R. Crites, she is survived by her father and mother, Shih Chang Hsu and Yu-Mei Hsu Teng of Rio de Janeiro; her father and mother-in-law, Samuel and Elizabeth Crites of Greenwood, Indiana; her siblings, Wilson Hsu (Bruna Pegurier) and Kenny Hsu (Lucia Pereira Hsu) all of Rio de Janeiro; her sisters-in-law, Sarah Crites (David Cook) and Tricia Allen (Darrell Allen); her nieces, Ada Cook, Julia Allen and Natalie Allen. Rose also leaves behind many dear friends.
