Rosy A. (Niemann) Hebert

Mrs. Rosy A. (Niemann) Hebert, of Waltham, died Monday, May 30, 2022 in Elizabeth Seton Residence in Wellesley. She was 94.

Rosy was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on February 21, 1928, a son of the late Henry and Johanna (Moller) Niemann. Her parents and brother Henry, had just immigrated from Hamburg, Germany 4 years earlier, in 1924. She was raised in Lancaster but when she was 17 the family moved to Tacoma, Washington, where she would graduate High School. During her high school years she was a talented roller-dancer, and that is how she met the love of her life, and Tacoma native, Eugene E. Hebert.

Rosy and Gene were married on April 2, 1949, in Hope Lutheran Church in Tacoma and enjoyed 65 loving years together before Gene's passing in 2014. The pair soon moved to Spokane where they made their home until moving to Waltham twelve years ago.

Rosy worked for almost 40 years at Rockwood Clinic, in Spokane, as the office and credit manager. She oversaw their transfer to digital and subsequent growth during her time there. She was also passionate about helping others grow professionally. As a member of Zonta International, a women's professional organization, she mentored many young women from their years in high school to when they would start their careers and beyond.

Rosy was predeceased by her husband, the late Eugene S. Hebert, and her brother, the late Henry W. Niemann.

She leaves her daughter, Sandra M. Hebert and her husband, Whitman P. Brown of Waltham and is also survived by her niece and her grand, great-grand, and great-great-grand nieces and nephews and their families.

Family and friends will honor and remember Rosy's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.), Waltham on Thursday, June 2nd from 4 to 7 p.m. Her funeral service will be celebrated in First Lutheran Church, 6 Eddy Street, on Friday at 11 a.m. Burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne is private.
