Ruby P. Boyd

Waltham - Mrs. Ruby P. (Anderson) Boyd, of Waltham, died on Friday, January 5, 2018 in Meadowgreen Nursing Facility. She was 93.

Ruby was born January 23, 1924 in Winthrop a daughter of the late Axel E. and Rudy (Edwards) Anderson. Raised and educated in Winthrop she was a graduate of Winthrop High School and earned an Associate degree from Bryant and Stratton Business School.

For over thirty years she worked as an administrative assistant for the federal government in its Department of Transportation retiring in 1984.

Ruby was a much loved neighbor and would look forward to her 'Monday night dinners' with her circle of friends. She will be fondly remembered by her close friends and loved ones at Bow Lake N.H., where she enjoyed playing scrabble and sitting on the beach. She also enjoyed spending holidays with extended family in Hampstead N.H.

Ruby leaves her siblings, Arthur E. Anderson and his wife, Joan of Ocean City, New Jersey and Dorothy F. Talbot and her husband, Bob of Livingston, Idaho; nieces & nephews; grand-nieces & grand-nephews and great grand-nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband, Frederick J. Boyd and their only child, George B. Boyd.

Family and friends will honor and remember Ruby's life by gathering in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Saturday, March 3rd where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial is private.

Memorials in her name may be made to a charity of one's choice.
