Waltham - Mr. Rudolph W. 'Rudy' Nersesian, of Waltham, died Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 91. Rudy was born in Waltham on March 22, 1918, a son of the late Simeon G. and Julia (Karkos) Nersesian, and had been a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of Waltham High School and served as a staff sergeant with the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. Rudy was an expert repairman on the Norden bombsight and C-1 automatic pilot devices on B-29 bomber aircraft. After the war Rudy attended Northeastern University in Boston where he earned an associate's degree in engineering and a bachelor's degree in business administration in engineering and management. Until his retirement he spent his career at the Raytheon Corporation working as an electrical engineer. After that Rudy belonged to the Raytheon Retirees Club where he kept in contact with all of his working buddies. He was also an avid and successful tennis player who could be found besting opponents at courts around the city. He leaves his nephews and niece, William F. Clark of Waltham, Richard J. Clark of Tyngsboro and Virginia M. Feeley and her husband, David, of Marlborough and his grandnephew and grandniece, Patrick and Kelly Feeley. Rudy was a brother of the late Margaret S. Clark, Aaron, Walter and Helen Nersesian. Family and friends will honor and remember Rudy's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Committal services will be held at Newton Cemetery Chapel.
