Waltham Mrs. Ruth E. (Dodge) (Holden) Anderson of Waltham, formerly of Rockland, died Monday, February 16, 2004. She was 74. Born and raised in Rockland, a daughter of the late Carroll B. and Dorothy M. (Delano) Dodge, she was a 1947 graduate of Rockland High School and had lived there before moving to Waltham more than twenty years ago. Mrs. Anderson worked as Vice-President of Administration and Finance for Manufacturing Resources, Inc. in Norwood. Before that she worked at Andover Newton Theological Seminary and prior to that she ran the New England Sales Office for A.M.P. in Framingham. Mrs. Anderson was a crafts enthusiast and had been a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Waltham where she formerly served as secretary and treasurer and had been a member of several church committees. She had also been the treasurer of the Waltham Protestant Chaplaincy Council. She leaves her husband, William S. Anderson; her children, Ruth A. Flynn and her husband Richard of Waltham and Alan P. Holden of Atlanta, GA; her step-children, Katherine Langdo of Haverhill, William Anderson of Frederick, MD and Derek Anderson of Beverly; her grandchildren, Rick and Tara Flynn, Gregory and Matthew Holden, Mary and Alan Langdo, Felicia, Christopher, Leanna, Trevor and Dylan Anderson; her sister, Caroline A. Dunham of Duxbury; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the wife of the late Alan B. Holden and a sister of the late William C. Dodge. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 24th in the First Congregational Church, 730 Main Street, Waltham. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours are Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham.
