Waltham – Mrs. Ruth E. (Peterson) Hall, of Waltham, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 in Meadow Green Nursing Home in Waltham. She was 99.

Mrs. Hall was born in Boston on January 27, 1914, a daughter of the late Charles and Talie (Zackrisson) Peterson. She was raised in Boston and had lived in Worcester, Pomfret, Connecticut and in Bedford before moving to Waltham. Mrs. Hall was a graduate of Girls Latin School and Simmons College, both in Boston. She was a social worker for the Memorial Hospital in Worcester.

Mrs. Hall was a member of Saint Michael's Episcopal Church in Worcester, Christ Episcopal Church in Pomfret and the First Church of Christ Congregational in Bedford. She also belonged to the Bedford Historical Society, the Simmons Club in Worcester as well as AASW (American Association of Social Workers).

Mrs. Hall was wife of the late Howard M. Hall, mother of the late Deborah Lane and Natalie Hall, and a sister of the late Ida Clark, Edith Peterson, Paul Peterson and Kenneth Peterson.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Hall-Burbine and her husband, Mark, of Mattapoisett; her son, David Hall and his wife, Linda, of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida and Mattapoisett; her grandchildren, Alyssa Husby and her husband, Jonathon, of Dearborn, Michigan and Alan Hall of Ann Arbor, Michigan; her great-grandchildren, Natalie and Noah Husby; her sister, Ester Zeimetz of Mattapoisett; her son-in-law, Howard Lane, III of Hardwick; her sister-in-law, Lucie Hall of Ft. Myers, Florida and many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and grand-dogs.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2013 in Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Boulevard, Providence, Rhode Island.
