Natick – Mrs. Ruth T. (Tobin) Kelley, of Natick, formerly of Waltham died Friday, July 15, 2011 at her home. She was 85.
Ruth was born in Waltham on November 11, 1925, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Catherine (Halley) Tobin, and was a graduate of Saint Charles High School in Waltham. She had been a lifelong resident before moving to Natick six years ago.
Until her retirement Ruth worked as a sales clerk at Grover Cronin’s Department Store on Moody Street in Waltham. She was a longtime member of Saint Charles Women’s Club where she also sang in the church choir. Ruth was also a member and a soloist for the Grover Cronin Choir.
She leaves her children, Charles T. Kelley, Jr. of Allston, Catherine A. Kelley of Natick and Colleen M. Kelley of Hudson; her sisters, Kathleen Melanson of Scituate and Joan Farrell of Franklin and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was also the mother of the late Lawrence B. Kelley and a sister of the late Margaret, Lawrence, Ann and Mary Tobin and Dorothy Moore.
Family and friends will honor and remember Ruth’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, July 18th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will be private.
