Concord, NH – Mrs. Ruth (Stukonis) Quinn, of Concord, formerly of Waltham, died Friday, January 13, 2012 at Pleasant View Center in Concord. She was 92.
Ruth was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Slubajeski) Stukonis, and was raised in Watertown where she was a graduate of the local high school. She had lived in Waltham for 70 years before moving to New Hampshire three years ago.
Until her retirement she worked as a quality control inspector for the Raytheon Company and also worked as a hostess for many years at Weston Golf Club. Ruth had been a member of the Waltham Senior Citizens and the Kezar Lake Association in Sutton, New Hampshire where she spent many happy summers with her family.
The wife of the late Joseph Quinn, she leaves her daughter, Janice A. Bowley and her husband, Harold, of Canterbury, New Hampshire; her grandchildren, Lela Holloran, Louis Bowley and his wife, Julie, and Ruth Bowley and her partner, Megan; five great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; her niece Jacqueline Keene and her dear friend, James Holloran.
She was also a sister of the late Edward Stukonis, Frank Stukonis, Joseph Stukonis, Charles Stukonis, Genevieve DeSantis, Josphine Quimby and Mae Burke and a dear friend of the late Millie Migliaccio.
Family and friends will honor and remember Ruth's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, January 17th, from 5 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
