Waltham – Mrs. Ruthellen (Frary) Centola, of Waltham, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at The Boston Home in Dorchester. She was 59.
Ruthellen was born in Waltham on August 1, 1951, a daughter of the late Ernest T. and Barbara M. (McGowan) Frary, and had been a lifelong resident. She was a 1969 graduate of Waltham High School and had worked as a lab technician at the former Waltham Hospital. Diagnosed more than thirty years ago with multiple sclerosis, she was involved in fundraising and programs for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
She leaves her husband, Joseph C. Centola; her children, Joseph J. ‘JJ’ Centola of Concord, New Hampshire, Michael C. Centola of Haverhill and Carla M. Centola of Waltham and her granddaughter, Abigail M. Morse.
Ruthellen was also the sister of the late Donna M. Harvey.
Family and friends will honor and remember Ruthellen’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, September 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
