Mr. Samuel Sabetti, of Spencer, formerly of Waltham, died at home on Monday, February 27, 2017. He was 95.
Sam was born November 20, 1921 in Newton a son of Italian immigrants Andrew and Mary (Izzo) Sabetti. He honorably served his country in the Army during World War II. He married Shirley Wilson at First Congregational on August 7, 1948 and they were residents of Waltham until May 2009 when they moved to Spencer to be closer to their daughter. Shirley died after a struggle with Alzheimer's on April 10, 2013.
He began work with his father in Sabetti & Sons before working independently for himself as in masonry for many years. His hobbies included woodworking, photography and tending to projects at home.
He leaves his daughter Diane Fournier Shea and her husband, Charles Shea, of Spencer; his grandchildren, Andrew Fournier of Watertown and Stephen Fournier and his wife, Dawn, of Millis; his great-grandchildren, Julia and Isabella Fournier; his brother Joseph Sabetti and his wife, Marie of Waltham; many nieces and nephews.
Sam was also the father-in-law of the late Frederick M. Fournier and brother of the late Thomas Sabetti and Anna Yarossi.
Family and friends will honor and remember Sam's life by gathering to visit in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, March 6th at 10 a.m. followed by his funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
