Wayland – Mrs. Sarah A. 'Sally' (Murphy) Hill, of Wayland, died Sunday, May 13, 2012 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 84.
Sally was born in Somerville on August 5, 1927, a daughter of the late Arthur and Maude (Dwyer) Murphy. She was raised in Newton where she graduated from Our Lady's High School. She lived in Newton, Sudbury, West Harwich, and for over twenty-five years, in The Villages in Florida before moving to Wayland more than two years ago.
Until their retirement, Sally and her late husband, Paul F. Hill, were the owners of Hill Jewelers in Sudbury and Hollis S. Howe Jewelers in Concord for many years.
She leaves her children, Elizabeth 'Beth' Lefebvre of Wayland, Paul F. Hill, Jr. of Maryland, James Hill of Sudbury, David Hill of North Andover and Robert Hill of Georgia; her grandchildren, Michael, Luke, Paul III, Scott, Kristy, James, Stephanie, Justine, Erica, and Matthew; her great-grandchildren, Caroline, Jack, Braxton, Mackenzie and Sophia and her siblings, Isabel Donellon, Doris Connors, Jude Moody, Virginia Ridge and Donald Murphy.
Sally was also the mother of the late Margaret 'Peggy' Little and a sister of the late Margaret Murphy, Arthur Murphy, Jr. and Mary McGrath.
