Mr. Sebastian W.F. Olivo, of Westford, formerly of Waltham, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011 in his home after an illness. He was 90.
Sebastian was born in Waltham on October 16, 1920 a son of the late Dominic and Margaret (Alongi) Olivo. He was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School and earned both his Bachelor and Law degress from Boston College. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He married Jane C. Ferrier on August 27, 1946 in Saint Mary’s Church in Waltham. They raised and educated their eleven children and lived in Waltham over 45 years.
Bill was a self-employed attorney and maintained a practice in Waltham for over 45 years. Upon retirement he and his wife travelled and lived in different areas before moving to Westford 3 years ago. Bill’s life was centered on his large family and he is remembered for his intelligence and ability to provide for his family. He was also an avid reader.
He is predeceased by his sons, William F. and Mark G. Olivo and his siblings, Robert Olivo, Mary Plant, Rose Nickerson and Theresa Olivo.
He leaves his wife of almost 65 years, Jane C. (Ferrier) Olivo; his children, Paul D. Olivo and his wife, Kathy, of St. Louis, Missouri, Adrian L. Olivo of North Carolina, Hilary J. Olivo and his wife, Joanne, of Natick, Owen P. Olivo of Westford, Dana E. Olivo and his wife, Annie, of St. Mary’s, Kansas, Monica J. Sullivan of Carlisle, Mary Wallace and her husband, Ned, of Clearwater, Florida, Claudia L. Roazen and her husband, Mark, of Falmouth, ME, Jane E. Chaffee and her husband, Alden, of Holden; his siblings, of Nicholas Olivo of Holden, Dominic Olivo of Newton, Antoinette Marella of Abington, Ida Quinlan of Florida, Jean Glynn of Chatham, Margaret Cormier of Waltham. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Bill's life by gathering to visit on Friday, July 22nd from 10 - 11 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20) Waltham, followed by his funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
