Plymouth – "Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same." --- Flavia Weedn
In his short life Shane Ryan left a lot of footprints, most especially on the heart of his dear sister, Heather. Having lost their parents when both were still pretty young they had drawn closer, as friends and confidante's as they got older, knowing and understanding one another's joys and struggles that came and went with time. Both were blessed by the love of grandparents eager to help however and whenever they could.
Heather shared that Shane was funny, smarter than he'd want you to know, was possessed of a stereotypical Irish temper and was very protective of the ones he loved. He loved playing baseball growing up and was an all-star star pitcher on the Somerville High School team.
Among his other talents and interests were basketball and football; fishing with his grandfather and following the Star Wars and Game of Thrones series. He knew his way around a kitchen and he loved to cook . . . and Shane always remained close to the friends he made in childhood in Somerville.
Shane T. Ryan died on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. He was 27.
He was born on November 13, 1988 and grew up in Somerville. Shane most recently had been living in Plymouth and before that in Waltham. He had worked for Martignetti's Liquors and most recently had been working as a house painter on the South Shore.
