Brockton – Mrs. Sharon A. (Walker) MacNeill, of Brockton, died on Sunday December 15th, 2013 in Brockton Hospital. She was 64.
Sharon was born in North Carolina on September 14, 1949, a daughter of the late Elmer and Rita (Crosby) Walker. She graduated from Burlington High School with the class of 1968 and married Robert P. MacNeill in Waltham in 1972. Bob and Sharon lived in Waltham for the next four years before moving to Brockton where they raised their family and have lived since. For over twenty-eight years she worked for UPS in both Watertown and Brockton.
Sharon loved spending time with her family and looked forward to all holidays, especially Christmas. Her thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren brought her great joy. When able she enjoyed occasional trips to Disney and Foxwoods.
Besides her husband, Robert P. MacNeill, she is survived by her children, Michael MacNeill and his wife, Sathya, Matthew MacNeill and his wife, Paulette, all of Brockton, Steven R. MacNeill and his wife, Lisa, of Downingtown, PA, Terrence M. MacNeill and his wife, Tracy, of Newfields, NH, Robert P. MacNeill, Jr. of Boston, Kathleen Russo of Waltham, Wendi E. MacNeill of Marlborough; her grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle, Ian, Katelynn, Devin, Ally, Andy, Charlie, Chris, April, Jennifer, Tori and Alex; her siblings, Gary Walker of Burlington, Maureen Bertolami of Florida, and Judith Giaimo and her husband, Richard, of Leominster and is also survived by her four nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Tracey A. MacNeill.
Family and friends will honor and remember Sharons's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, December 19th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 11 a.m. on Friday morning when her funeral service will be held. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
