Sheila M. Monahan

Waltham – Mrs. Sheila M. (McGuire) Monahan of Waltham died Tuesday, February 3, 2004 in Newton-Wellesley Alzheimer Center in Wellesley. She was 73. Born in Waltham, Mrs. Monahan was a graduate of Saint Mary’s High School in Waltham and Regis College in Weston. She was a homemaker who in later years worked at BayBank as a bank trust officer until her retirement in 1995. Mrs. Monahan was the former wife of the late Leo J. Monahan, the daughter of the late William and Mary (Larkin) McGuire, and the sister of the late William L. McGuire. She is survived by her children, David T. Monahan of Monument, Colorado, Lisa J. Monahan of Newton Highlands, Gail M. Monahan of Boston, and Michael S. Monahan of Olympia, Washington; her grandchildren, Kristen Phillips, Kim Jenkins, Max Levine and Eli Levine; her great grandson, Raiden Jenkins; and her sister, Gail E. McGuire of Ashland. A Memorial Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Saint Mary’s Church, 133 School Street, Waltham. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham. Donations in Mrs. Monahan’s memory to the Newton-Wellesley Alzheimer Center, 694 Worcester Street, Wellesley, MA 02482 would be appreciated.
