Waltham – Mrs. Sheila A. (Dubie) White, of Waltham, died Thursday, April 20, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. She was 73.
Sheila was born in Waltham on November 5, 1943 and graduated from Waltham High School with the class of 1961. On October 2, 1965 she married Robert J. White in Saint Mary's Church on School Street and the pair have called Waltham their home ever since.
Until her retirement Sheila worked as an administrative assistant in the Math Department at Brandeis University in Waltham.
Sheila was lucky enough to be surrounded by wonderful family, friends and neighbors throughout her life and she returned their love at every opportunity.
Around the house she was a talented gardener and a terrific cook, but the title she was most proud of was "Memere". When the grandchildren came along her life became complete.
She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-one years, Robert J. White; her sons, Robert J. White, Jr. of Waltham and Richard J. White of Hillsboro, Orgeon and her grandchildren, Colin White, Devyn White and Michael W. Howell. Sheila was also the beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Sheila was also a sister of the late Diane Hancock, Roland, Wilfred and Leon Dubie, Jeannette Sturtevant, Irene Sturtevant and Pauline Saulnier-Bova.
Family and friends will honor and remember Sheila's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday April 25th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
