Shirley E. Hansen

Waltham – Mrs. Shirley E. (Morgan) Hansen of Waltham died Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at Caritas Saint Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Brighton. She was 84. Born in Everett, a daughter of the late Carl and Bertha (Gray) Morgan, she moved to Waltham 60 years ago. Until her retirement, Mrs. Hansen worked as a ward secretary at Charlesgate Nursing Home in Watertown and before that worked for many years as a nurse’s aide at Waltham Hospital. The wife of the late Bertel J. Hansen, Sr., she leaves her children, Roy E. Hansen of Marlboro, Sandra L. Gouveia of Waltham, Bertel J. Hansen, Jr. of Panama City, FL, Anne S. Keef of Edmond, OK, Mary E. Connors of Newton, Michael P. Hansen of Patterson, NY, and Mark E. Hansen of Waltham; one sister, Geraldine Hull of NH; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Peter D. and John R. ‘Dick’ Hansen. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 9 a.m. Friday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Weston. Visiting hours are Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
