Waltham – Mrs. Shirley M. (Fullerton) Heffron, of Waltham, died Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 83.
Shirley was born in Somerville on July 9, 1929, a daughter of the late George and Mabel (Youngquist) Fullerton, and moved to Waltham as a child and had been a resident since. She was a graduate of Waltham High School.
After her children were grown Shirley began a new career as an office manager in Boston for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Office for Children.
The wife of the late Leo W. Heffron, she leaves her children, Brian W. Heffron and his wife, Janet, of Nashua, New Hampshire, Craig A. Heffron of Waltham, Karen C. Bartlett and her husband, Christopher, of Milford, and Todd M. Heffron and his wife, Elizabeth, of Waltham; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was also the sister of the late Barbara Steber.
Family and friends will honor and remember Shirley's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, May 29th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday morning when her funeral service will be held. Burial will be private.
