Waltham - Mrs.Shirley M. (Pike) Renna, of Waltham, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 in Rose Monahan Hospice Residence in Worcester. She was 90.
Shirley was born October 19, 1923 in Worcester, a daughter of the late George W. and Violet J. (Wyman) Pike, and graduated from the former Commerce High School in 1941.
After graduating, she owned and operated George's Auction Barn in Billerica for many years. In 1960 she married John A. Renna, raised her children and worked for the City of Waltham School Department in its lunch program, retiring in 1994.
She enjoyed playing bingo, sewing, crocheting, gardening, arts and crafts and trips to Foxwoods.
Shirley's husband, John died in February 2003 and she is also predeceased by her sister, Beverly Brown Hockenjo.
She leaves her children, David J. Renna and his husband, Donald J. Wilson of Malden and Nancy J. Sarkisian and her husband, Dale, of Auburn; her grandchildren, Steven and Nicole Sarkisian of Auburn; her sister, Betty J. Haijko of Worcester; her sister-in-law, Sadie Renna Romard of Waltham and several nieces and nephews.
The family expresses thanks to the staff of Care Dimensions of Danvers and especially to the staff of Rose Monahan Hospice in Worcester for their wonderful care and support.
Funeral services will be private.
