Sr. Laura M. Belliveau, R.C.E., of Framingham, died Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Saint Patrick’s Manor in Framingham. She was 97.
Sr. Laura was born in Fitchburg on July 27, 1927, a daughter of the late Ulysse and Eloise (Landry) Belliveau, and was a graduate of the American School and earned her bachelor’s degree from Boston College.
She entered the Religious of Christian Education Novitiate in Milton in 1955 and proclaimed her Final Profession on August 15, 1962. During her training she taught at Jeanne D’Arc Academy in Milton.
She was a much loved fourth grade teacher at several schools administered by the RCE order, including Saint Pierre’s in Waltham, Saint Joan of Arc in Ashville, North Carolina, Saint Bridget’s and Saint Tarcisius, both in Framingham.
Sister Laura was also a cherished member of her religious community. Always energetic, willing to help and possessed of a great sense of humor, her company was always welcome. She was close to her parents and to her late brothers, Edmund, Bernard and Gerald Belliveau, all of whom she now joins in heaven.
Her confreres in the Religious of Christian Education and Carmelite community and friends will honor and remember Sr. Laura’s life by gathering at 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning, January 14th in the chapel at Saint Patrick’s Manor, 863 Central Street, Framingham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Watertown.
