Miss Stephanie M. Lazaro of Cambridge, formerly of Waltham, died Monday December 8, 2003 on the island of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, one day prior to getting married to her fiancé, Piotr Jastrzebski of Cambridge. She was 37. Born in Waltham, Miss Lazaro was a registered nurse for Supplemental Health Care for the past two years and before that she was a registered nurse at McLean Hospital in Belmont. She was a 1985 graduate of Waltham High School, and she attended the University of Vermont for three years and then graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Boston where she received two degrees in Psychology and one degree in Nursing. She loved the outdoors and was an avid skier, hiker, traveler. She loved animals and was especially very fond of her dog Rufus. She was the sister of the late Robert C. Lazaro Besides her fiancé, she is survived by her parents Robert Lazaro of Waltham and Margaret 'Peggy' (Hughes) Sullivan also of Waltham. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. The Funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Monday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham at 10 a.m. Committal services will be held in Newton Cemetery Chapel. Visiting hours are Sunday 3-7 p.m.
