Stephen J. Colantino

Mr. Stephen J. Colantino, of South Dennis and formerly of Walpole and Auburndale died on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in Cape Cod Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 51.

Stephen was born in Waltham on February 25, 1966, the son of Robert C. and Mary C (Cannavo) Colantino. He was raised in Auburndale and graduated from Newton North High School. Stephen loved collecting various items including antiques, coins, magazines and radios. He also loved spending time near the ocean and two of his favorite beaches were West Dennis and Bass River in Yarmouth.

Besides his parents, Robert C. and Mary C. (Cannavo) Colantino of South Dennis, he is survived by his siblings, Salvatore A. Colantino and his wife, Carolyn, of Thompson, Connecticut and Anthony M. Colantino and his partner, Craig Grantham, of Palm Springs, California. Also survived by several aunts and cousins.

Family and friends will honor and remember Stephen's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, March 20th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Bernard's Church, 1523 Washington Street, West Newton where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Newton Cemetery.
