Stephen Cucinotta will be remembered for his dedicated and hard work ethic, his love for family, friends and co-workers among many other wonderful attributes. His love for food was one of his staples and dining out with friends and family was a regular occurrence. He was dubbed a self-proclaimed foodie as he had patronized so many different restaurants.
Stephen died at his sister's home on Friday, December 13, 2019 after a long illness with his family and friends by his side. He was 61.
Born on December 1, 1958 in Dorchester he was a son of Frances T. (Lyons) Cucinotta of Watertown and the late Stephen J. Cucinotta. Raised in Watertown he was a graduate of Watertown High School with the class of 1976 and earned his Bachelor's degree from Framingham State University in 1982. Stephen had also studied two years at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston for he had a lifelong interest in the arts, collecting antique furniture and pottery.
He loved his work as a senior accountant for Infinity Pharmaceuticals in Cambridge where he worked for over twelve years.
In addition to his mother, Frances Cucinotta of Norwood he leaves his siblings, Mary Ellen Mooney (Michael) of Tampa, Florida, Carol A. Barbato (Richard) and Paul M. Cucinotta (Lynne) all of Waltham; nieces and nephews, Carole Bagby (Jonathan), Kevin Mooney (Jennifer), Richard Barbato (Jenna), Kathleen Mooney, Keith Barbato (Stephanie Bonfonte), Matthew Cucinotta and Samantha Cucinotta; great-nieces and nephews, Andrew, Patrick, Meghan, Brayden, Owen, Stella and Winnie; aunts, uncles & cousins.
Family and friends will honor and remember Stephen's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, December 17th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to The Church of Saint Luke, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown.
