Stephen J. Golledge

Waltham – Mr. Stephen J. Golledge, of Waltham, died Saturday, August 3, 2013 while vacationing in Thornton, New Hampshire. He was 51.

Stephen was born in Cambridge on October 25, 1961, a son of Roberta (Smith) Golledge of Exeter, New Hampshire and the late Rev. Robert Golledge. He was raised in Auburndale and was a graduate of the Rivers School in Weston.

A Waltham resident for the past twenty years he worked as the tree warden and arborist for the City of Waltham. Before that he owned and operated Golledge Tree Service for a number of years. Steve was a member of the Massachusetts Arborists Association.

In addition to his mother he leaves his wife, Dorothy A. (Fairweather) Golledge; his sons, Stephen J. Golledge, Jr. and Mark A. Golledge, both of Waltham; his brother, Robert Golledge, Jr. of Canton; his sister, Susan Golledge-Rotwein of Trinidad, California and many nieces and nephews.

Stephen was also the husband of the late Dorothy A. (Chiasson) Golledge who died January 5, 2007.

Family and friends will honor and remember Stephen's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, August 8th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 11 a.m. on Friday morning in Christ Church, 750 Main Street, Waltham where his funeral service will be held. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
