Waltham – Mr. Steven Wenckus, of Waltham, died suddenly on Thursday, July 21, 2016. He was 52.
Steven was born in Waltham on February 27, 1964, a son of Alfred A. Wenckus and the late Nancy A. (Crites) Wenckus. He attended Waltham Vocational High School and was a talented carpenter. He was the proprietor of American Remodeling in Waltham.
Steven loved his children, his family and his friends. Amanda and Aidan were his heart and soul - his everything. He enjoyed watching them play baseball, hockey and all of the sports that they loved to do. He was very proud of them, and proud to be their dad.
He took good care of his father Al. He and Al were best friends, and shared a lot of time together. They laughed every day, went fishing, and always brought each other their daily coffee from Dunkins.
He was always the first one to make a call to those in need of comfort - ready to offer kind words, and support, never judging the situation.
There are many great and funny stories to be shared, we all have at least one 'funny Steve story' to make us laugh and remember the best of him. Steve was truly a wonderful person, and loved - he will be missed by so many.
In addition to his father, he leaves his children, Amanda and Aidan Wenckus and their mother, Kathryn Dempsey, all of Waltham; his brothers and sisters, Alfred A. Wenckus, Jr. of Waltham, Kathleen Landry of Newburyport, Kenneth J. Wenckus of Waltham, Susan Surabian of Watertown, Marianne Squires of Waltham and Sharon Collari of Marlborough; his nieces and nephews, Crystal, Matthew, Michelle, Christopher, Jesse, Kevin and Evan and his grandnieces and nephew, Madison, Chloe and Owen.
