Stirling P. Fraser

Newton – Mr. Stirling P. ‘Skip’ Fraser of Wayland, formerly of Newton, died Friday, December 2, 2005 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 62. A son of the late Arnold P. and Dorothy (Stirling) Fraser, he was born in Medford and raised in Newton. He was a graduate of Newton High School and Northeastern University. Until his retirement 2 years ago, he worked as a mechanical engineer at Raytheon for 15 years. Skip was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He was an avid golfer and boater. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Eleanor C. Fraser; his daughter, Kimberley F. Sternick and her husband Peter, of Framingham; 2 sisters, Elizabeth Greason and her husband Stephen, of Holderness, New Hampshire and Cheryl Snyder and her husband Robert, of Point of Rocks, Maryland; 2 grandchildren, Andrew and Jillian Sternick and several nieces and nephews. He was the husband of the late Virginia (Keough) Fraser. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at 10 a.m. Thursday in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20) Waltham. Burial will be in Newton Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Metrowest Regional Center, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
