Waltham – Susan R. Carter, of Waltham, died on Saturday September 3, 2011 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 69.
Susan was born on May 4, 1942, in Manchester Connecticut, the daughter of the late Richard and Edna (Howard) Carter. She lived in Manchester until 1971 when she moved to Waltham, Massachusetts. A medical technologist she worked at both the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and the former Waltham Hospital.
Susan will be remembered as an independent woman. Her family and friends will remember her with loving thoughts for her kind and gentle ways and her extraordinary love for her cat Danny Boy.
She is survived by nieces, Paige C. Niver and Sarah Carter-Killion; nephew Joshua G. Carter; sisters-in-laws Dennise J. Carter and Pamela Carter; two grandnieces and two grandnephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brothers, Richard T. Carter, Jr. and Robert H. Carter, and her special companion Hazen Ackles.
Her family is very thankful for the love and care given to her by two dear friends, Jane Moretti and Rose Attardo.
Private funeral services will be held for the family.
