Waltham - Mrs. Thelma M. (Benoit) Valiante, of Waltham, died Wednesday, September 10, 2014 in Newton Healthcare Center. She was 86.
Born on May 6, 1928 in Somerville she was a daughter of the late Albert and Nellie (O'Day) Benoit. Raised and educated in Somerville she moved to Waltham shortly after marriage to her husband, Joseph P. Valiante.
Thelma stayed at home to raise her children and enjoyed music and birds.
Her husband, Joseph P. Valiante died in 1985 and she was also predeceased by her siblings, Raymond 'Junior' Benoit, Richard Benoit, John 'Jackie' Benoit, Eleanor Amato and Luella Benoit.
She leaves her children, Joseph R. Valiante and his wife, Ann, of Dracut and Marie A. Westerman of Waltham; her grandsons, Jeffrey Lanaville and his wife, Elizabeth of Salem, New Hampshire and Jason Lanaville of Dracut; her great grandchild, Parker Lanaville, and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Thelma's life by gathering on Saturday, September 20, 2014 in Mount Feake Cemetery, 203 Prospect Street where her graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m.
