Waltham - Mr. Theodore J. Washburn, of Waltham, died Saturday, November 26, 2011 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 54.
Ted, as he was lovingly known, was born on June 4, 1957 in Waltham to Donald B. and Catherine M. (Sousa) Washburn. He was a graduate of the 1975 Newton North High School class and had been a resident of Waltham for over 27 years.
Ted worked at Barclay Water Management in Watertown as a Commodities Relocation Engineer since 1992, which was the ideal job given his love of the open road.
Ted was able to cherish this love with another, as he and his beloved fiancé Jacki would spend summer weekends motorcycling to their camp at St. Laurent Campground in Royalston. Ted shared everything he had, and was always lending a hand fixing anything and everything for anybody who asked. More importantly, Ted shared stories with anybody who would listen, even those who were just fortunate enough to be in the same room. Whether it was sitting around the campfire, around the card table at the Wednesday night family game at his parents' house, or at home watching television, Ted's stories will always be remembered.
He leaves his fiancé Jacklyn M. (Valente) Doucet; his children, Theodore J. "T.J." Washburn, Jr. of Boston and Valerie R. Alfeo and her husband, John, of Waltham; husband of the late RoseMary (Caruso) Washburn, who died in 1999; his step-children, Jaymie (Doucette) Shill and her husband, Ted, of Irvine, CA, Corie (Doucette) Keicher and her husband Bill, of Nashua, NH, PFC Joseph J. (Sousa) Washburn of West Newton; his siblings, Paula Clancy and her husband, Richard, of Waltham, Donald Washburn and his wife, Judy, of Sandpoint, ID, Katherine "Kit" Washburn of West Newton, Philip Washburn and his wife, April, of Fitchburg, Diane Nee and her husband, Kevin, of Waltham, Mark Washburn and his wife, Elizabeth, of Milford, Jean Washburn and her partner, Eric Cook, of Waltham, Joan Papalia and her husband, Alan, of Merrimack, NH, Suzanne Gallello and her husband, John, of Milford, NH and George Washburn of Waltham; and many nieces and nephews.
