Waltham – Mrs. Theresa A. (Belliveau) Cosgrove, of Waltham, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at her home. She was 87.
Theresa was born in Lynn on March 6, 1927, one of eleven children born to the late Peter and Aline (Thibodeau) Belliveau. She moved to Waltham with her family as a child and has been a lifelong resident since. She attended Saint Pierre's School in Waltham and graduated from Saint Ann's Academy in Marlboro.
On September 16, 1950 she married Waltham Firefighter William M. Cosgrove and the couple remained in Waltham to raise their family. They enjoyed fifty-three happy years together until Bill's death on December 2, 2003.
Before she got married she worked as a teller at Newton-Waltham Bank and while raising her children she worked at the Massachusetts Farm Bureau in Waltham and later in the Special Education Department for the Waltham School System.
Theresa will long be remembered for the simple joy and enduring strength she always had as a devoted wife, a loving mother and proud 'Grammy' to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She leaves her children, Patricia A. Aucoin and her companion, David Bryant, of Dedham, Margaret M. Kraft of Raymond, Maine, Jean M. MacKenzie and her husband, Martin, Douglas E. Cosgrove, all of Waltham, Robert M. Cosgrove and his wife, Susana, of Auburn and Kenneth P. Cosgrove and his wife, Paula, of Waltham; her grandchildren, Julie Rzepecki, Christine O'Hearn, Craig Aucoin, Katie and Alison Kraft, Michael and Andrew MacKenzie, Jennifer Lizotte, Stephanie, Rachel and Ryan Cosgrove; her great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Erin Rzepecki, Owen and William O'Hearn, Alex Belisle and Cody Lizotte and many nieces and nephews.
Theresa was also the mother of the late David W. Cosgrove and a sister of the late Doris, Arthur, Sammy, Romeo and Al Belliveau, Helen Healey, Laura Gaudette, Marie Casserly, Margaret Surrette and Stella Spaulding.
Family and friends will honor and remember Theresa's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, February 1st from 2 to 5 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
