Hubbardston – Mrs. Theresa M. (LeBlanc) Poirier ,of Hubbardston, formerly of Waltham died on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. She was 88.
Theresa was born in Saint-Paul, New Brunswick on May 28, 1929, a daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Louise (Richard) LeBlanc. On May 21, 1961 she married Dismas A. Poirier in Saint Joseph's Church in Waltham and the pair made Waltham their home before moving to Hubbardston three years ago.
Until her retirement Theresa worked for TRW for more than thirty years in Newton, Burlington and in Westminster.
In addition to her husband of fifty-six years, Dismas, she leaves her daughter, Jacqueline Delaire of Fitchburg; her grandsons, Stephen and Kevin Delaire; her brothers, Leo Paul Leblanc of Phillipston and Fred Leblanc of New Brunswick and many nieces and nephews.
Theresa was the mother of the late Roland Poirier and a sister of the late Maria LeBlanc, Florence Breau, Yvonne Johnson, Dorothy Gautreau, Francis LeBlanc, Oscar LeBlanc, Emery LeBlanc, Rheal LeBlanc, May LeBlanc and Jean Daigle.
Family and friends will honor and remember Theresa 's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, January 9th from 3 to 7 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
