Framingham – Sister Theresa P. Sicard, R.C.E., of Framingham, died Friday, April 10, 2015 at Saint Patrick's Manor, Framingham. She was 86.
Sister Theresa was born in Leominster on October 12, 1928, a daughter of the late Aurele and Beatrice (Joyal) Sicard. She was raised in Leominster where she attended Saint Cecilia's School and later attended Saint Bernard's High School in Fitchburg.
She entered the Religious of Christian Education novitiate at Jeanne d'Arc Academy in Milton on November 21, 1946 and received an associate's degree from Saint Genevieve of the Pines in Asheville, North Carolina and later earned her bachelor's degree from Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Her final profession took place at Jeanne d'Arc Academy on August 15, 1954.
She taught at Saint Pierre's School in Waltham, Saint Genevieve of the Pines in Asheville, North Carolina, Marycliff Academy in Winchester and Saint James School in Arlington. Sister Theresa then earned a diploma in practical nursing and worked as a certified nurse's assistant at Keystone Nursing Home and at Birchwood Manor, both in Leominster before her retirement.
Sister Theresa leaves her sisters, Lorraine McDermott of Gardner and Lucille Goguen of Leominster; her brother, Charles Sicard of Lancaster; her confrères in the Religious of Christian Education community and many nieces and nephews.
She was also a sister of the late Robert and Rita Sicard.
Family and friends will honor and remember Sister Theresa's life by gathering to visit on Friday, April 17th, at 9 a.m. in the Holy Family Chapel at Saint Patrick's Manor, 863 Central Street, Framingham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint Cecilia's Cemetery, Leominster.
