Waltham – Ms. Theresa Rose Terry, of Waltham, formerly of East Boston, Norwell and Framingham, died Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Meadow Green Nursing Home in Waltham. She was 91.
Rose was born in East Boston on October 15, 1924, a daughter of the late William and Theresa (Costello) Terry. She was a graduate of Boston University where she earned her bachelor's degree and a master's degree in education.
Until her retirement Rose was the principal at the Walter E. Fernald School in Waltham. For more than fifty years she lived in Norwell where she belonged to Saint Helen's Church. Handy by nature, she became a very skilled self-taught carpenter, often doing repairs and construction projects on her own. Rose enjoyed gardening and kept her home landscape beautifully manicured and in the winter months indulged her passion for skiing on the slopes of New England.
Rose leaves her sister, Ethel M. Frattaroli of West Newton and many nieces, nephews and their families.
She was also a sister of the late Albert and William Terry.
Family and friends will honor and remember Rose's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, December 3rd from 5 to 8 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 573 Washington Street, Newton where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
