Thomas J. Arsenault

June 6, 1977 — October 29, 2016

Waltham – TJ Arsenault could best be described as a quiet man who loved his family and never complained, even though he had earned the right to if he wanted.

During the two years that he fought the cancer that finally took him TJ was always more concerned with others than himself . . . his father Tom who died a year ago . . . his mother Barbara who loved them both unconditionally and took such good care of them . . . his brother and sister-in-law, Bryan and Carol who he loved dearly and finally his brand new niece Alivia who brought a broad smile and a joyful heart to a man who needed both.

Thomas J. Arsenault, Jr., of Waltham, was 39 when he died Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

TJ was born in Waltham on June 6, 1977 to Barbara L. (Robertson) Arsenault of Waltham and the late Thomas J. Arsenault, a retired Newton Police Motorcycle Patrol Officer. TJ and his brother both took up a love of Harley's from their Dad whose nickname was Lumpy and who rode a bike all his life.

He was a 1996 graduate of Waltham High School and four years later earned his degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. TJ first worked at Fort Devens in Ayer before becoming a senior financial analyst at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford where he worked for the past 14 years.

TJ enjoyed life's simple pleasures . . . riding his Harley-Davidson, golfing with work friends, a blazing campfire and a good cigar. He took good care of his home and his beloved canine pal, Morgan. He was able to travel to Alaska to see its breathtaking beauty and ride the Pacific Coast Highway on his bike to experience the exhilarating feeling of freedom that came with it.

In addition to his mother he leaves his brother, Bryan E. Arsenault, and his wife, Carol, of Nashua, New Hampshire; his niece, Alivia Arsenault and several aunts, uncles and cousins who made his life complete.

Family and friends will honor and remember TJ's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, November 4th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday when his funeral service will be held at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Bob Bergeron Waltham Youth Hockey Benevolent Fund, c/o Mark Hickey, 46 Shirley Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
