Thomas F. Doucette

January 21, 1952 — December 21, 2024

Marlborough

Mr. Thomas F. Doucette, of Marlborough, formerly of Newton, died Saturday, December 21, 2024 at UMASS Medical Center in Worcester.  He was 72.

Tom was born in Waltham on January 21, 1952, a son of the late Wilfred and Dorothy (Thomas) Doucette.  He was raised in Newton and was a graduate of Newton North High School.  After high school he started working at Fraser Engineering in Newton where he became a valued member of the Fraser team for almost a half century.

A tribute from the company read in part . . . "Tommy retired from Fraser in 2018 after 46 years as our Shop Foreman and before that was the best sectional boiler installer ever. Those who knew Tommy understood his larger-than-life personality, he was tough and kind, direct and funny, convinced and open, and loyal and loud at times" . . . he will be missed.

Tom's greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren, Alina, Chloe, Lucas and Isabella . . . being a kid at heart made the role easy for him. Seasonal trips to York, Maine were on the schedule for more than twenty years where Tom was on a first name basis with the staff at the York Harbor Inn. It was a place where he found great peace, light, joy and refreshment.

He was also a deep sea fisherman, puzzle solver, expert landscaper around his house and seasoned antiquer.  Tom was also a sports aficionado and loved attending Red Sox and Patriots games.

He leaves his wife of forty-one years, Patricia A. (Hughes) Doucette; his children, Kerri Domingues (Mike) of Westborough, Thomas F. Doucette, Jr. of S. Grafton and Christina Abreu (Pedro) of Shrewsbury; his grandchildren, Alina, Chloe, Lucas and Isabella; his sisters, Janice Taleas of Marshfield and Patricia Kelly of Watertown and many nieces, nephews and their families

Tom was also a brother of the late Kenneth and Warren Doucette.

Family and friends will honor and remember Tom's life by gathering for an Afternoon Wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, December 29th from 2 to 5 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
