Waltham – Mr. Thomas E. "Eddie" "Mutt" O'Hara of Waltham, died Sunday, June 23, 2013 in his sister's home in New Hampshire. He was 77.
Tom was born in Waltham on November 24, 1935, a son of the late Henry and Mary (Fitzpatrick) O'Hara, and had been a lifelong resident.
Known as Eddie to his family and Mutt to his friends, a nickname he inherited from his father, he worked for many years as a bus driver at the Walter E. Fernald School in Waltham. He had also been a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge No. 1018, in Waltham.
Tom leaves his sisters and brother, Mary Early of Waltham, Eileen Messina of Boca Raton Florida, Elizabeth O'Hara of Newton New Hampshire, Nancy Grimes of Waltham, Hazel Doucette of Ashland and Walter O'Hara of Waltham and many nieces and nephews.
He was also a brother of the late Robert Fitzpatrick, Patrick O'Hara, William O'Hara, Patricia Wright, Catherine O'Hara and Joseph O'Hara.
Family and friends will honor and remember Thomas' life by gathering for his Funeral Mass in Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham, on Friday, June 28th, at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.
