Mrs. Thomay T. (Papanikolaou) Salamanis of Waltham died Sunday July 3, 2005 in her home. She was 97. Born in Kriminion, Kozanis, Greece, a daughter of the late Constantine and Soultana (Eliotopoulos) Papanikolaou, she lived in Waltham for over forty years. She was member of the Panmacedonian Association of Boston, Philoptohos at the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church in Watertown, and a volunteer for the Waltham Hospital Auxiliary. She was the wife of the late Thomas G. Salamanis and sister of the late Alexandros, George, and Panayiotis Papanikolaou. She is survived by one son, William T. Salamanis of Waltham, one daughter Claire S. Lyons of Watertown, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Service at the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church, 25 Bigelow Avenue, Watertown at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church Memorial Fund.
