Today, we honor our mother, Touri Darroudi, who passed away peacefully on January 3 / 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.
She led quite the dynamic and full life, pursuing her many passions. She was a self-made couture designer, culinary artist, and business owner. She had two successful businesses in Tehran in addition to a restaurant in California when she originally moved to the United States. She followed her love of the arts and was heavily engaged in music, poetry and dance.
She loved traveling and visited many different parts of the world where she learned so much about different cultures which she incorporated into her designs and baking. She was a grande dame, consummate hostess, and extraordinary chef, and her exquisite presentation of Persian dinner feasts were legendary. She had a tremendous presence, and we will always remember her intelligence, charm, elegance, dignity and a kind heart.
She leaves behind her husband of 68 years, Manouchehr, two daughters and their husbands, Roya (Javid) and Elzeh (Massood), 4 grandchildren, Dario, Elika, Neema, and Aram, and sister, Pouran.
Mom, you will always stay in our hearts, and we will carry your legacy for the rest of our lives. Rest in peace until we meet again.
