Waltham – Vera V. Brown, of Waltham, died Friday, April 21, 2017 at her home. She was 94.
Vera was born in Cambridge on January 9, 1923, a daughter of the late Samuel and Phyllis (Davis) Brown. She was a 1941 graduate of Cambridge High School and moved with her family to Waltham in 1944.
Until her retirement she worked for forty-seven years for the Ucinite Company in Newtonville. Vera will long be remembered for keeping meticulous gardens around her home and for the fabulous quilts she made over the years. She had also been an active participant in the activities at the Stanley Senior Center in Waltham.
She was a sister of the late Victor, Oliver and Robert Brown and Phyllis Hanscom and dear friend of the late Alice Craig.
Vera leaves many nieces, nephews and their families.
Family and friends will honor and remember Vera's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, April 25th from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 11 a.m. on Wednesday morning when her funeral service will be held. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
