Waltham – Mrs. Vera R. (Olivieri) Schiff, of Waltham, died on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 in the Miriam Boyd Parlin Residence in Wayland surrounded by her family. She was 92.
Vera was born in Newton on March 24, 1922, the daughter of the late Felice and Mary (Brigandi) Olivieri. She graduated from Our Lady's High School in Newton and had been a resident of Waltham since 1947. She was devoted to her faith and had been a parishioner of St. Jude's Church since it was established in 1949.
She was the wife of the late George W. Schiff and is survived by her children, George W. Schiff, Jr. and his wife, Teresa, of Stamford, CT, Janet L. Rogan and her husband, Rick, of Mansfield and David L. Schiff and his wife, Jean, of Bolton; her grandson Daniel Rogan and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Rita, Felix, Anthony and Sarah Olivieri, Evelyn Collura, Mary Frongello, Lucy Bell and Frances Joy.
Family and friends will honor and remember Vera's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, January 19th from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
