Waltham – Mrs. Veronica Clare (MacDonald) Condon, of Waltham, died Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 98.
Veronica was born in Inverness, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia on September 28, 1916, a daughter of the late Alex and Margaret (Gillis) MacDonald. She was raised and educated in Inverness and worked for a number of years for Northern Electrical Company in Montreal.
In 1954 she immigrated to the States and settled in Waltham. Until her retirement she worked for the J. L. Thompson Manufacturing Company in Waltham and before that worked for Waters Manufacturing in Watertown.
She and her husband, Walter, enjoyed spending many happy summers walking the beach in Duxbury and during the winter in Pompano Beach, Florida.
Veronica and her late husband, Walter J. Condon, had fifty-one wonderful years together before his death in July, 2008.
She was a sister of the late Angus, John and Margaret MacDonald, Mary Hall and Catherine Wood and leaves several nieces, nephews and their families.
Family and friends will honor and remember Veronica's life by gathering to visit at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning, May 6th, in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham before leaving in procession to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
