Waltham - Mr. Vincent A. Kiejzo, of Waltham, died at home with his family gathered at his side on Saturday, December 30, 2017. He was 89.
Vincent was born January 10, 1928 in Vilno, Poland, a son of the late Anthony Kiejzo and Louise (Kulik) (Kiejzo) Kirol. He immigrated to the United States in 1937 settling in Providence, Rhode Island. Vinnie honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Claire A. Cheetham on November 20, 1954 in Saint Mary's Church in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. A job opportunity at Raytheon Corporation in Waltham afforded them a move first to Somerville where they lived for over two years before making Waltham their home in 1958. He worked as an electronics technician for over 37 years before enjoying retirement in 1995.
His interests including reading, gardening and tending to his yard at home and time spent with his family but especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Louise Anania.
He leaves his wife of 63 years, Claire; their children, Alexander R. Kiejzo of Milford, Susan C. Lambert and her husband, Bruce of Nashua, New Hampshire and Michael V. Kiejzo of Waltham; his brother, Edward Kirol of Santa Maria, California; his grandchildren, Jennifer Hinkle and her husband, William, Amanda Hurd, Mathew Hurd and his wife, Gwen, Christopher Hurd and his wife, Tammy, Melissa, Devon, Hannah, Jonathan and Derrick Lambert, Vincent Kiejzo, Lianne Kiejzo and her fiancé, Justin Richards and Anthony Kiejzo; his great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Avery, William, Benjamin, Lily, Scarlett, R.J., James, Harry and Cloie; nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Vincent's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, January 3rd from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 pm. again at 9 a.m. on FRIDAY MORNING, JANUARY 5TH before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
