Jonesborough, TN – Mr. Vincent A. Visconti of Jonesborough died Saturday, March 29, 2014, in the Franklin Woods Community Hospital in Johnson City, TN, surrounded by his family after a lengthy battle with cancer and respiratory disease. He was 73.
Mr. Visconti was born in Boston on February 23, 1941, a son of the late Anthony and Nancy (Giaquinto) Visconti.
He was a machinist who lived in Waltham, Palm Harbor, FL and North Reading until his retirement ten years ago when he moved to Jonesborough.
Vincent served in the United States Navy and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who loved nothing better than spending time with his family. He enjoyed the outdoors, sports, and truly loved animals.
Vincent leaves his wife of 51 years, Barbara (Bell) Visconti; his children, Vincent J. Visconti and his wife, Annette, of North Andover, Kristin Misischia and her husband, Kevin, of Johnson City, TN, Lori Souza and her husband, Thomas, of Land O'Lakes, FL; ten grandchildren, Monique Sullivan and her husband Joseph, Nicole Toothaker and her husband Jason, Alyssa Visconti, Vincent A. Visconti II, Vito Visconti, Ashlyn Misischia, Nicholas Misischia, Emily Misischia, Michael Souza, and Olivia Souza; two great grandchildren, Joseph Toothaker and Henry Sullivan; two sisters, Ursula Daniello and her husband, Michael, and Nancy Foster and her husband, Joseph, and several nieces and nephews.
Vincent was the brother of the late Gerald Visconti, John Visconti, Anthony Visconti, Albert Conti, and Grace Moniz.
Family and friends will honor and remember Vincent's life by gathering for calling hours on Thursday, April 3rd, from 4-8 pm in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham and again on Friday at 9:30 am before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Watertown.
